A separate sheet in an Excel workbook can be used for each stock. In the My Stocks template: Open the template from the template chooser, then click the table near the bottom of the sheet. ![]() The figure below shows an example of a simple spreadsheet that tracks one investment's data, including date, entry, size (how many shares), closing prices for the dates specified, the difference between the closing price and the entry price, the percentage return, profit and loss for each periodic closing price, and the standard deviation. Select one or more cells with the data type, and the Add Column button will. Youll know theyre converted if they have this icon for stocks. If Excel finds a match between the text in the cells, and our online sources, it will convert your text to the Stocks data type. The first step is to decide what data you would like to include. With the cells still selected, go to the Data tab, and then click Stocks.
